Media Agency Services – TV, Digital & Social Media Planning and Buying to promote MacDonald’s China
Overview
SinoMedia selected and managed a campaign using TV, social and digital media for McDonalds. TV advertising first capitalized on maximum exposure, while social and digital media engaged users and encouraged participation, creating a network of fans for McDonalds in China. McDonalds used a variety of creative formats to keep its audience engaged: counting down to the release of its new breakfast menu, and strategically using the golden timeslot just before the 7PM news update to catch maximum exposure. To efficiently engage its target audience – returning graduates/new workforce professionals, young parents, and the senior citizens — their advertisements effectively resonated with these 3 target segments using the common theme of reunion and family happiness. McDonald’s managed to enhance user engagement by publishing the TV advertisements on Weibo and Wechat and encouraging digital conversations with the viral hashtag #happytogether.

Drive Mega MICE Groups to Toronto
Overview
We executed annual representation services for Tourism Toronto, including MICE consumers, as well as a trade industry campaign to drive visitors to Toronto. There is a clear measurement for all services, especially MICE business groups to Toronto.
Compared to other major cities in North America, Toronto has less direct flights out of China and is not in the top list for MICE destinations. The team worked closely with both major MICE travel agencies and corporate clients to promote the destination. Business media and social media were also targeted to generate brand awareness among business travellers. Once a comprehensive strategic plan for Toronto is made, the budget on trade, media and MICE are linked for destination promotions. As a result, several mega MICE groups are confirmed for Toronto.
Our strategies included consistent and transparent communication with our clients, to ensure adherence with Tourism Toronto’s market goals for China. As a result of our activities in trade, media, and consumer, we successfully raised the visibility and accessibility of Toronto as a vibrant metropolitan city made just for the young and active. Travel trade initiatives drove sales by creating more accessible market opportunities through increasing consumer travel packages and encouraging more attractive travel itineraries. Due to the strong needs of the market, China Southern will add a new flight from Guangzhou to Toronto with 7 flights per week in the summer of 2016.
